..........PORTHCAWL MALE CHOIR - WELCOME ............

It gives us great pleasure to welcome you to The Porthcawl Male Choir Web site.

Formed in January 1980 with seventeen members, the Porthcawl choir has steadily grown to its current strength of forty-five members.
It has been fortunate to be able to draw on the local talent of male voices to achieve the success it has. Porthcawl choirs objectives include maintaining the tradition of Welsh Choral Singing through practice, concert, competition, helping charitable causes and the promotion of Wales and Porthcawl.

We are indebted to the founder musical director the late Alan Pillinger, along with his wife Beryl who was the first accompanist for their vision in forming the choir and their dedication and patience in those early days. Others who followed maintained the momentum to achieve our aims and objectives.

.....Mair Jones
At present our thanks go to Richard Davies and Beryl Cullen our accompanists for their contribution, a task they always perform cheerfully. Last but not least, our thanks to Mair our musical director for not only organising the music but also for her patience in rehearsals and on many occasions singing solo and duets with her husband John in concerts to support the choir.

Practices are held twice a week on Tuesdays and Fridays at the Arlington Road Presbyterian Church at 7.30 – 9.30pm. Members of the public are always welcome to come and listen. Prospective new members are always given support and help to acquaint themselves with the music and fellowship within the choir.
