Resident rhymer Roger regularly relates remarkably realistic readable rhymes, truthfully telling tastful titbits and topics on travels, trips, tours and treks.

This is the first publication of one of his poems, we hope to publish others before long.

This is a special day for Welshmen
The day we all feel proud
Mawrth y gyntaf Dydd Gwyl Dewi
And no Englishmen allowed !
So wear your leeks and daffodils
And sing for all you'r worth
Give praise to dear old Cymru
The land that gave you birt

Thanks to our friends from Newport
Though their journey here's been long
A warm welcome to our seaside town
And for joining us in song
We really are so grateful
For your coming all this way
And for singing songs of Gwalia
On this St Davids Day

He brought the Christian gospel
To our people long ago
Built monasteries and churches
Where the peaceful waters flow
St Patrick, George and Andrew
Were as great men - this I grant
But none so brave and virtuous
As Wales' Dewi Sant
4
He was Dewi Sant our patron
He was our nations' pride
And tonight we all remember him
On the day that Dewi died
They say he worked the miracles'
That he gave the blind their sight
If Dewi was alive today
'Beat the French we might!

It's thanks to Doctor Jaimie
For his promotion of this cause
Can't he tell blind English referees
to learn the b***** laws
It's not a SAD occaision
Though the charity has that name
But a time of celebration
And I hope you're glad you came
6
Many thanks to Mair & Frank & all
To Anghard our guest soloist
For all their dedicated effort
and a show not to be missed
Our thanks to you the audience
For coming here tonight
And supporting such a worthy cause
It's been our great delight.
