Could you visualise entertaining German, French, Dutch or Spanish
audiences, many of whom would perhaps not understand the English
words you were singing never mind the Welsh? Not only to entertain
them but to have standing ovations from them and to forge long
standing friendships with them through the international language
of music.
Well I can
tell you that many, if not all the choristers of Porthcawl Male
Choir, often in conjunction with other choirs, have experienced
all of these, and many of these opportunities can be open to you
simply by joining us. Don't think you can't sing because everyone
can sing, maybe not on their own, but certainly in a group, and
in a choir it's the collective sound that is important. You would
be advised as which of the four sections of the choir would best
suit you. The ability to read music is not a requirement; few
of us can, but you would be shown how to follow the score. Young
or old, you are all welcome. Why not give it a try? We meet each
Tuesday and Friday from 7.30 pm to 9.30 pm at the Presbyterian
Church in Arlington Road, no obligation, no pressure, just a warm
welcome. Oh and by the way, why not bring a friend?
